The Motorhub Team story took off when four of Ireland’s top motor journalists, Michael Sheridan, Brian Kellet, Bob Flavin and Daragh Ó Tuama… formed a boy band – eh, sorry, pooled their motoring obsessed brains!
Over the years all four members have contributed at the top level of national media outlets. Their wealth of experience includes creating motor content for powerhouses such as Car Buyers Guide, The Next Gear, The Irish Independent, RTÉ, TG4, Today FM and Newstalk, while also contributing to countless other media outlets like Raidió na Gaeltachta, The Irish Times & The Sunday World – to name just a few.
Motorhub was founded in 2013 by Daragh Ó Tuama. During 2015 Brian Kellett joined and together they started planning for the future of the car website. In the last quarter of 2015 both Bob Flavin and Michael Sheridan also came on board. Michael is now Editor of the site.
Motorhub.ie is evolving with the digital times and offers the most up-to-date content in motor news, reviews and features.
Michael’s motoring CV goes back to the mid 90’s with RTE although he started his employment there in 1990 as a young people’s TV presenter. Initially responsible for motoring content with RTE’s daytime TV dept. he went on to present the RTE TV car show Drive! He has worked as a Producer/Director and Executive Producer on numerous motoring television shows in Ireland and Internationally including The Whole Way Round, The Shamrock Run, The Viking Run and The Irish 66ers to name just a few.
In print and radio credits include the RTE Guide – motoring editor from 1999-2003, he transferred to RTE’s website where he helped set up the motors section and was responsible for all content as its editor until mid 2015. His print credits are too many to list but include National daily and Sunday newspapers, magazines, radio (multiple RTE radio shows including contributing editor with the Gerry Ryan show & The Mooney Show, plus guest contributor to Tubridy, Fanning, Drivetime etc. & most recently Today FM – The Last Word). Michael has also represented Ireland’s motoring journalists in Motorsport at the International Mazda MX-5 endurance race series in Italy and the Arctic Ice Race.
Michael has been a Car of the Year Judge for over 18 years and is a former Chairperson of the Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP).
Bob Flavin has worked in the Motoring Industry most of his life. Bob is probably best known for his YouTube channel that has attracted well over 10 million views and is considered one of the biggest YouTube channels in Ireland.
Bob a former editor for Independent.ie saw him set up the Motoring section for one of the biggest media groups in Europe. He’s a regular contributor to Iconic news group including Leinster Leader and many other titles. Bob is the current Chairperson of Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP)
Brian started his motoring blog Fueled.ie 4 years ago and the rest is history.
Daragh Ó Tuama
Currently on sabbatical, his past motoring ventures include presenting MotorMouth on Newstalk 106-108FM and MPH on TG4. Daragh was editor for Car Buyers Guide and contributor for Beo.ie. He set up the motors section on Newstalk.com and could be heard regularly on Rónán Beo @3 on Raidió na Gaeltachta. He contributed to The Sunday World’s Motor Mouth pages and also delivered motoring content for the Irish language online magazine, NOS.ie.
