The overall winner was chosen from the category winners listed below, by a jury made up of members of the Association of Professional Motoring Press (APMP) and the IMWA.

Dacia Sandero

Irish Compact Car of the Year 2022 The Dacia Sandero. The great value for money Sandero beat off competition from the excellent Honda-e and Hyundai i20 for the title.

Citroën C4

Irish Medium Car of the Year 2022 The Citroën C4. The category short list was made up of: the Citroën C4, CUPRA Leon, the DS 3, the MG 5 and the Volkswagen Caddy Life.

Irish Large Car of the Year 2022 The KIA EV6. The category contained: the Audi Q4 e-tron, the Hyundai IONIQ 5, the Kia EV6, the Škoda Enyaq, the Toyota Highlander and the Volkswagen ID.4.

Opel Mokka

Irish Small Crossover/SUV of the Year 2022 The Opel Mokka. It won from a short list of: the Hyundai Bayon, the Mazda MX30, the Mercedes-Benz EQA, the MG ZS, the Opel Mokka and the Toyota Yaris Cross.

Renault Arkana

Irish Medium Crossover/SUV of the Year 2022 The Renault Arkana. It won from stiff competition: the CUPRA Formentor, The Hyundai Tucson, the Nissan Qashqai, the Renault Arkana and the Subaru Outback.

Irish Luxury of the Year 2022 The Mercedes-Benz S Class. the category contained: the Audi e-tron GT, the BMW iX, the Mercedes-Benz EQV and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
